you today. through palo alto just starting to improve. and i believe they wrapped up the southbound side well ahead of schedule, just wrapped up work. as you can see the stretch of red getting shorter. next traffic update coming up in about ten minutes. this just in a woman in the hospital after a fire rescue on the peninsula overnight. tweeted out these photos of what happened overnight, the fire broke out inside a building on pine street. the victim was taken to stanford medical center with burn injuries. we still have no word on her exact condition. this happened on pine street near shasta. firefighters asking people to avoid that area while the

sunshine at 9:00, 70. and upper 80s to near 90. we're in the 60s through 9:00. high clouds and sunshine and upper 70s during the afternoon hours dropping down to 67 by 7:00. a little breezy then, also. san francisco will climb from 58, high clouds and sunshine. notice the sea breeze dropping us down to 63 degrees. i'll show you the dramatic drop for the rest of us tomorrow and friday before the next heat wave hits. here is alexis. we do have an issue in solano county, westbound 80. two vehicles involved in this crash, a semi and a sedan. it possibly caught fire. i believe we have one lane blocked. i am keeping an eye on the situation. we have really filled in at the bay bridge toll plaza.

the trump administration is considering a national emergency to justify the tariffs. all mexican goods starting on monday unless mexico attempts to reduce the number of migrants crossing the border. >> i believe that he will back off when faced with the opposition among business, among his own republicans and when he sees what a dumb move he has made. >> the president fired back on twitter saying schumer, quote, would rather have our country fail than give wins. >> the tariffs would increase the cost of consumer products from mexico, everything from washing machines to produce like avoca avocados.

5:15 now this is very interesting. a popular drug used to treat arthritis could reduce the risk of alzheimer's disease. fizer chose not to share that news with the world. a powerful anti-inflammatory was discovered in 2015. experts discovered it reduced the risk by 64%. after they reviewed hundreds of thousands of insurance claims. pfizer opted against a costly clinical trial to verify the findings. a former florida sheriff's deputy faces criminal charges for failing to act during the parkland shooting massacre. 17 people died when a gunman targeted students and staff in february of last year. a state review found that former broward county deputy scott peterson retreated while people were being shot. the charges include child neglect f. convicted peterson could face 96 years in prison.

dramatic pictures from a phoenix mountain rescue. take a look at this showing a stretcher spinning out of control. a woman had slipped and hit the ground while hiking. the phoenix fire department says that normally a second line is attached to the basket to keep it from spinning like this but the helicopter pilot says it broke. you can imagine the woman had dizziness and nausea. she was treated at the hospital and apparently is doing fine this morning but what a nightmare. >> oh, man. as someone who suffers from motion sickness, i can't imagine what that was like. happening today no more cruises to cuba. the trump administration is banning u.s. travel to the island nation on cruise shship. this is an attempt to cut off cash to the communist government. cruise travel began in 2016 during the obama administration.

city in the u.s. to decriminalize possession and use of so-called magic mushrooms. the city council voted after hearing from speakers who shared how psychedelics helped them overcome a variety of orders. magic mushrooms remain illegal under california and federal law. police are asking if anyone who had an encount wer a man posing as an officer to come forward. sergio taylor was arrested over the weekend. this is the second time he's been charged with impersonating an officer. they found a police style uniform and replica gun in his car. he's suspected of dressing as a police officer in other areas, too. from cradle to career, the pledge oakland has made to its students. 400 seniors received

scholarships from newly merged nonprofits, oakland promise and east bay college fund. they pledge to support child from birth to college graduation. this year they are awarding students $2.5 million in scholarships, that's about $2,000 a year. it includes textbooks, meal plans and housing. >> this has helped me tremendously. i know like my family is not able to afford college because it is super expensive. this puts weight off our shoulders. 35 students will receive scholarships from steve kerr. he donated his speaking fees to the nonprofit. the countdown to game three between the warriors and raptors. tonight's game is one of the final games to be played at oracle arena. >> the warriors are leaving oakland for san francisco after this season.

and then you can see it pushing inland as we head to the evening and overnight hours. temperatures in the mid-50s to 60s. 60s and basically 70s but then monday really sticks out with those highs from 70 to 100 degrees. alexis? overall we've been doing okay on the roads today. i haven't had any major issues to talk about and, in fact, one of our only incidents on the board has cleared. we had a crash involving a semi and sedan early this morning and that did just clear from the board. so i believe at one point we had one lane blocked. a little bit of a backup approaching the scene and that has cleared out. looking better in solano county. southbound 101 still very light here across golden gate bridge into san francisco. no marine layer today as mike mentioned. none of that cloud cover. it will be warm later on. enjoy the clear commute. we don't have any visibility issues. southbound 680, 14 minutes. you're in the green. still under an hour southbound
